The CEREC method is a CAD/CAM restorative procedure that can often be completed in one visit. An optical impression of the prepared tooth is taken using a camera. Next, the specific software takes the digital picture and converts it into a 3D virtual image on the computer screen. A ceramic block that matches the tooth shade is placed in a cutting machine. An all-ceramic, tooth-colored restoration is finished and ready to bond in place. A new tooth is cut in as little as four minutes or up to twenty minutes, depending on the complexity of the tooth.
This technique produces a finished crown or veneer at the time of your appointment and eliminates the need for multiple visits.
